Find a “Do-Follow Blog” to earn one-way links
Commenting on Do Follow Blogs is a great way to build one way links. Although you will have to make sure that your comments are useful to the discussion as webmasters moderate the comments and are aware of people submitting useless random comments just to get that one-way link.
A couple of years back, no-follow tags became popular after blogs became main targets for spammers. Blogger, Wordpress and the rest adopted the no-follow tag but that did not stop the spammers. A link was still a link even if it did not count towards the spammer’s ranking.
After the trend of no-follow tags, Do-follow tags are being used by many bloggers to encourage their readers to leave a comment and also earn a one-way backlink that will be recognized by search engines.
If you are looking for a blog with the do-follow tag, you can use specific search engines such as http://www.commenthunt.com/. Commenthunt.com has been created to cater to readers searching for Do-follow blogs but these search engines still error a lot and list blogs with no-follow tags. Its a matter of time before we do have a search engine that looks for these kind of blogs.

If you are using Wordpress for your blog and would like to turn your blog into a Do-Follow Blog to encourage your readers to post comments on it, you can install a plugin called DoFollow (WP Plugin). You can download the plugin at http://kimmo.suominen.com/sw/dofollow/ and here are the instructions to install this plugin:
1. Download dofollow.php
2. Save it in the wp-content/plugins directory of your WordPress installation.
3. Activate the DoFollow plugin in the Plugins admin page.
4. Once you activate the plugin,it provides a DoFollow subpage in the Options page.
5. Check the current operating mode in addition to the configuration options.
Once you install and activate this plugin, the number of comments on your blog should start to increase gradually and this will help you make money online from your blog!

I’m using the online/hosted version of wordpress(.com), is it still possible to add plugins somehow?

You cannot upload plugins to the online version and I found this on the wordpress FAQ page -
“If there is a plugin that you feel is a must-have and would benefit users on the site then fill in the Feedback form on your blog! Tell us what plugin you want, where it can be downloaded and most importantly, why you think it should be included in the site.
All the feedback is read, and we’re collecting the most numerous requests for implementation.
You cannot upload your own plugins for security reasons.”

I also have a blog on Wordpress and set it as “DoFollow”. When I have something new on the blog, I drop an email to mus customers inviting them to raed the article and discuss. I must say that I haven’t had many spam comments yet. Just a few maybe that I deleted.
There are a couple more dofollow Wordpress plug-ins as well such as Lucia’s Linky Love Plugin and Dofollow from Semiologic.
