To add more interesting content and variety to your website, you can install Google Gadgets to your website. You can access Google Gadgets here.

Weather Forecasts, Google Calender, MP3 Players and even a pacman game are some of the examples of the kind of Google Gadgets you can install on your website.

If you are of the technical kind, you can also write your own gadgets and this is a great way to promote your site as your link can appear on the gadgets you develop and this in turn will be embedded into others’ websites. Google Gadgets API consists of a few simple building blocks: XML, HTML, and JavaScript. You just need to know HTML to start off with and Google will teach you about XML as you go along. You will need to be familiar with Javascript to develop advanced gadgets.

Installation of Google Gadgets on your website is pretty easy:

1. Select the gadget from the gadget directory at http://www.google.com/ig/directory?synd=open&source=gghx

2. Copy and paste the code supplied in the next step into your HTML and save the page

3. The gadget is live on your website.
